There are two ways to use -- an electric wax warmer or a tea light wax warmer. Electric warmers plug into the wall, like this one in the pictures below. You can usually set a timer and let it melt all day! Tea light wax warmers, on the other hand, require the use of a scentless tea light to warm the wax, and usually only lasts a short time (think 2 hours). These are easily accessible and often found at dollar stores and super cheap!
Here's how each of them work:
This is how the wax warmer I used looks. Has one button that controls the amount of time your wax is warmed.
There's a silicone tray included, which makes clean up and changing scents SO easy! It's removable, and you can pop the harden wax right out when done.
Next, break a piece (or two, or three!) and place it in the tray. Depending on where and how strong you want your scent to be, I'd suggest starting with one block and adding more from there.
Set your timer for how many hours you'd like it to continually warmer and disperse scent. I normally do 9 hours to enjoy throughout the whole day. The great thing about these is that you can leave them unattended, with no fire hazards.
Lastly, enjoy your scent!
For these, you're going to need the warmer, unscented tea lights and a lighter. These use the heat from the flame to melt and warm the wax. People usually choose these to enjoy the ambience that a lit candle provides in your home.
Place the tea light underneath the warming plate in the tea light holder, and light it. Keep in mind that since this is a flame, you'll want to not leave this unsupervised for long periods.
These are going to melt the same way and emit the same powerful aromas as the electric warmers. Also, the tea lights normally extinguish themselves once burned out.
So, which way do you prefer? Check out our selection of amazing wax melts and enjoy your scents!

DIY body scrub: Make your own body scrub by mixing 1 part granulated sugar with 2 parts coconut oil and adding in some lavender essential oil and pure vanilla extract or any other essential oils that you like.
Place a tea light: Drop a tea light into the candle jar to create a nice visual effect to be used indoor or out.
Collect spare change: drop your coins in at the end of everyday or let your kids save up change to start financial learning early!
Lip gloss storage: if you are ANYTHING like me, you hoard NYX lip glosses lol. The 10oz jars are a perfect size for handfuls of them!
Regifting: Christmas is literally around the corner! After thorough cleaning with hot water and soap, fill the jars with hot chocolate and marshmallows, or even cookie dough mix, add the lid and wrap a pretty ribbon around it and voila! Happy gifting!
Bathroom toiletries: stuff cotton balls or q-tips in the jar to add a little organization to your counter.
Bulk goods: store bulk goods like almonds or granola and keep on your desk for healthy snacking throughout the workday.

]]>I know you’ve probably been burning candles for YEARS now and you love watching the soft glow and smelling the warm scent as it fills your home – but there is an art to burning a candle properly! I want to provide you with a few tips to get the most from your candle:
Watch it
This is probably a no-brainer, but please do not leave your burning candle unattended! Check on it frequently to ensure that the wick is still burning properly (no flickering, wisps of smoke or leaping flames) and that it has not begun to wither out.
Burn Time
As a best practice, burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time, but no more than 4. For the first burn, always burn until the wax has formed a complete pool at the top to prevent tunneling down the middle. While burning, make sure the wick remains centered. Burning for more than 4 hours can cause overheating of the jar and well... we don't want that!
Let it gooooo
Once you are down to about ½ inch of wax, discontinue burning. Burning all the way to the bottom, with the entire wax pool liquified, is not only a fire hazard, but it can potentially cause container cracking. Accept ‘leftover’ wax. Residual wax can have the benefit of preventing the candle from becoming too hot. Learn how to stop worrying and love the leftover wax! You can also pour it into a wax melter and reuse the jar.
Keep It Short, Sweetie (KISS)
Always trim your wick to a ¼ inch before lighting. If you go too long without trimming the wick, your wick can develop a carbon buildup and release soot into the air. If it’s a wooden wick, keep it trimmed as close to the wax as possible.
If you’ve run into any difficulties or are unsatisfied with your candle, please feel free to reach out to me at info@javiellecandles.com. Customer service is very important to me and I will work to find a solution that fits your needs. As a new and small business, I am always open for improvement!
Best,
